TNT Brings Drama to Belgium with Amazing Marketing Stunt

So as I was trolling through some blogs, I came across this amazing marketing stunt. PURE GENIUS!

To promote its launch in Belgium, TNT Channel presented a brilliant and incredibly elaborate stunt, created by agency Duval Guillaume, the master of guerrilla marketing tricks in Europe.

Basically, on a quiet square of a Belgian town, where nothing usually happens, TNT placed a red “PUSH TO ADD DRAMA” button. And when one daring passer-by finally steps forward to press it, all hell breaks loose. The square suddenly erupts in chaos, as actors appear out of nowhere and flung themselves into scenes ripped from medical and legal dramas. A car chase starts, guns are fired, you name it… a classic TNT TV show! The only thing missing is a helicopter touching down.

At the end, everyone disappears and a giant banner unfolds on a building side that reads: “Your daily dose of drama. TNT,” along with the network’s tagline, “We know drama.”
According to AdWeek, this “could never happen in America. Some confused bystander would have pulled out his own gun and blown away a good portion of the talent.”

Did I mention that this is PURE GENIUS?

Ad Agency Rethinks Coffee Cup Sleeves As Newspapers

As BERG rethought the paper receipt, ad agency Y&R Dubai rethought the way people consumed news with coffee for Canadian coffee franchise Tim Hortons and UAE’s daily English newspaper Gulf News.

The agency paired fresh coffee with fresh news by converting the coffee cup sleeves of Time Hortons into ‘Headline News’ Cup Sleeves.

When customers
bought a cup of coffee, the baristas would place the coffee cup sleeve into a special printer.

The printer would pull tweets from the Gulf News Twitter account, and print the latest headline of the hour, with a short URL and QR-Code onto the cup sleeve.

In this way, customers were informed of the latest happenings of the hour.

To read the full story of the headline, they could scan the QR-Code or type in the URL on their mobile devices.
